Last year, my apartment decided that we should get a christmas tree for Christmas. We never did. This year, however, my lone housemate and I decided that we were going to do it. So we did. $15 and a trip to the tree farm up Tucker Hill Road later, and we had a tree in the middle of the living room.
We had a cheap tree stand from somewhere, and I had bought four $2 boxes of white lights from Wal-Mart (100 lights each) a week earlier. It looked like this in the end. (1/4 second exposure, I believe)
Also 1/4 second, but with different white balance.
(see the bottom of the rant page for the original undecorated,
white light tree)
As nice as the straight lights looked, we decided that it needed something else. Since we didn't have any ornaments, Josh suggested we string popcorn, because I had several pounds of popcorn kernels in the cabinet. We asked everybody we knew, and in the end, only Chelsea agreed to help us.
We listened to Dave Brubeck's christmas album, ate the popcorn, and strung for 2 hours. How's that for a fun Friday night?
What we created.
The finished product. Beautiful, eh?
