I went to A.C. Moore, and started wandering. I found the glass stuff, and the jars, but no seals. I went
to customer service and asked her if they sold 'these' and pulled it out of my pocket. She said she was
pretty sure that they didn't, but if they did, they'd be with the jars over there.
Since I had just been wandering around in the jars, I knew that they weren't there, but I went to look
a second time anyway. In the process, I found a nice glass vase that I could put my philodendrom
cuttings/soon to be full plant in.
I called my mom and said that A.C. Moore was a dead end. She gave me two more stores to try. Shop Rite (another grocery store) which was around the corner, and Kitchen Kapers, which was across the road and down a little ways. Since Shop Rite was closer, I headed over there. Being environmentally conscious, I walked, rather than drove. I went straight to customer service and asked if they had them. She said she's never seen one before, but all of their canning stuff was back behind the frozen foods in a wire thing. About 10 minutes later, I managed to find the 'wire thing' that held the canning stuff. Of course, no seals.
On the way back to the car, I passed Linens and Things. It had been an original suggestion, because they have a fairly large kitchen section. Since it was right there, I went in. I found a lot of other stuff that I wanted to buy but couldn't afford, but couldn't find the seals. I found the jars, which was closer than I'd gotten, but no seals. I asked a woman who was fixing a broken shelf if they sold them, and she said 'just the seals? No, sorry.' She was the first person who really knew what it was by sight, and she deserves credit for that, but by now I was getting frustrated. This was the 5th store I'd tried. It had been almost 2 hours since I started looking, and I still hadn't found them. Since I've never been one to give up easily, I got in my car and headed across the road.
