Jolene's "New" Table

I'm not sure where she got it, but it was pretty old and nasty. It had various stains, rings from mugs, scratches, and everything else that an old table would have. So we decided to refinish it.

We donned our dust masks, fired up my sander and stripped it down.

Here you can really see what color it used to be, and what color we made it.

Hard at work. We did the curves in the legs by hand, with sheets of sand paper and foam sanding blocks. It was such a traumatic experience that I'm not going to say anything else about it.

We used Minwax PolyShades walnut stain. It's stain and polyurethane in one can. It saved a lot of time, and looked great.

Honestly, the picture doesn't even come close to capturing its beauty. I'm a tough critic, and even I was impressed.
